PURPOSES AND GOALS

 

The mission of Hopscotch Learning Academy is to offer quality childcare, modeled on the highest early childhood standards.  Our primary purpose is to create a child care environment that is:

 

• Caring for children, parents, and staff where all are treated with respect.

• Consistent through the use of Primary Caregivers, Family Groupings and simple routines.

• Constructive through a variety of child initiated learning activities.

• Challenging to children in all areas of development: social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and the values by which they live.

 

This program is regularly measured according to these "4 C's".                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

PHILOSOPHY OF LEARNING AND GOAL

 

Our philosophy is that a warm and nurturing environment is made rich by "hands on" play-learning opportunities.  These experiences allow children to learn by interacting with their environment.  Children test information they already know and increase their knowledge through hands on interaction with materials, adults, and other children.  Teachers guide children by asking open-ended questions, and commenting on their work.  This "hands on" discovery philosophy is carried through every classroom and age.
